The Indian women’s football team started its AFC Asian Cup qualifications on an impressive note when Mongolia hit on Monday in its first game in Thailand.
Sangita Basfore opened the score in the eighth minute, but it was Pyari Xaxa, who was the star of the show and found it five times in a completely one-sided affair at the 700-year anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium.
It was the first victory for the Blue Tigresses in more than four months, with his last victory against Jordan in the Pink Ladies Cup. It is lost to Russia, South Korea and Uzbekistan, which has fallen to the worst ranking of 70 in the FIFA ranking.
