AIFF calls for the meeting of legal lawyers of ISL clubs and federations

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) asked on Wednesday the legal advice of the Apex body of the game and the ISL clubs to «keep discussions» about the worries of the teams about the uncertainty in the coming season of the top class.

Last week, 11 Indian Super League clubs had urged the AIFF to urgently bring the «current situation» of Indian football, resulting from the uncertainty about the future of Island, to the attention of the Supreme Court before a case with regard to the constitution of the National Federation is pending.

The ISL clubs said in a letter that they will have no choice but to look for independent judicial story if the AIFF does not act on their request.

The National Federation has now responded.

“The AIFF, on the evening of Friday, August 8, 2025, received a letter from 11 Indian Super League clubs and jointly asked that the Supreme Court is aware of the current uncertainty surrounding the ISL.

«On August 13, the AIFF responded and asked the legal advice of the clubs and the federation to hold discussions and decide on further action,» the AIFF tweeted.

The clubs asked the AIFF to ensure the Super Cup a day after the National Federation had proposed the Super Cup in September to guarantee sufficient competing competitions for the clubs after ILL organizers FSDL signed a «break» on the League because of uncertainty about the extension of the Master Rights Agreement (MRA) who in 2010.

After the decision of 11 July of ISL organizers FSDL to place the 2025-26 season «» on hold «because of the uncertainty surrounding the renewal of the MRA, three clubs have either the activities of the first team or suspended salaries of first-team players and staff.
