India’s teen prodigy Anahat Singh entered the pre-quarterfinals on Tuesday at the World Junior Championships in Cairo after beating France’s Ines Guyot 3-0.

She will meet the Brazilian Laura Souza Beerra da Silva on Wednesday for a place in the quarterfinals.

In the boys category, Arihant KS, Yusha Nafees and AyaVeer Dewan entered the round of 32, which will be played later today.

Iker Guarrotxena extends the contract with FC Goa

FC Goa announced on Monday that Spanish Vooruit Iker Guarrotxena has extended his contract with the club for a year, so that he held the Gaurs with the Gaurs until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Parneet Tops Rankings

World Championships Team Gold Medal-winning archer Parneet Kaur was at the top of the individual rankings of women in the qualifying round in the World University Games in Essen, Germany on Tuesday.

Parneet, who scored 701 points, was one of the two archers who scored more than 700.

Madhura Dhamangaonkar finished sixth with 687 points, while Avneet was Kaur 22 ND with 673.

Aryan Rana collected 640 points in the recurve Men’s Division to be in 29th place. Vishnu Chaudary (627) and Mrinal Chauhan (622) have managed the 42nd and 47th places respectively.
