The Indian boys team reaches semi -final, confirms medal at World Squash Junior Championships

The team of the Indian boys beat the third placed South Korean side with 2-1 to reach the semi-final of the World Squash Junior Championships in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday.

After reaching the semi -finals for the third time in history after 2008 and 2012, the boys’ team is assured of at least a bronze medal.

In the opening band, Yusha Nafees Jeong UK Ryu brought down 3-0 (11-5, 11-5, 11-9), but the Koreans bounced back when Joo Young defeated after Sandhsh PR 3-0 (11-4, 11-4, 11-4). In the decision maker, KS Arihant Jonghyeok Lee 3-1 (11-7, 11-13, 11-8, 11-4) beat to seal the victory.

In the semi -final, the Indian boys will compete against the US.

Later, on Wednesday, the Indian Girls’ team, led by Anahat Singh, Top Seed Egypt in the quarterfinals.

Forty Indian boxers set to compete in Asian U19, U22 championships

The contingent of India of 40 promising young people will participate in the Asian U19 and U22 boxing championships, which will start on Wednesday in Bangkok, Thailand. Boxers will participate in 10 weight categories in every division. For U19 men, the categories of 47 kg-50 kg to +90 kg vary, while U19 women will fight in classes of 45 kg-48 kg to +80 kg. The U22 men and women will compete in the same weight ranges.

Shoan Ganguly ends 38th in 200m Medley in world championships

The Indian swimmer Shoan Ganguly finished 38th in the 200m Medley of the men on day four of the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old from Karnataka clocked 2: 05.40s to finish eighth in his heat and 38th general, so that he did not continue to the semi-final of 16-Swimmer.

Bicycle federation draws Mou with Manav Rachna

The Cycling Federation of India (CFI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIRS) to design an educational and career path for cyclists.

The partnership will help cyclists follow higher education while continuing their professional training in sport.

There will be a joint bicycle coaching academy that offers UCI-released coaching certification course, apart from a diploma course in bicycle coaching and sports sciences.

Rod Laver Junior Challenge: Argentina beats India

Argentina defeated India 4-2 in the fourth league match of the IC Rod Laver Junior Challenge Tennis Tournament in Barcelona, Spain.

Durand Cup 2025: Neroca Snatches Late pulls against Trau

Neroca FC hit a stopping time on Wednesday to save a point against Trau FC in Imphal in a Durand Cup 2025 Group E armor.

Trau had fallen deep to defend his slender lead in the 96th minute when a cross from the left flank went through Zex Mangang through Waikhom to Arunkumar Singh, who perfectly timed his dive to nod the ball in the bottom corner.
