India beats silver on day 1 of Asian youth and junior weightlifting championships 2025

Pungni Tara won a silver medal in the category of 44 kg weight (youth girls) with a total lift of 141 kg on the opening day of the 2025 Asian youth and junior weightlifting championships 2025 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Her individual lifts include a Snatch of 60 kg, clean and jerk of 81 kg, with a total weight of 141 kg.

With this version, Tara insured a gold in Clean & Jerk, which resulted in a silver in total lift.

Northeast United FC signs Lalbiakdika for a long -term deal

Northast United FC announced the signing of forward Lalbiakdika Vanlalvunga on a long -term contract that will hold him in the club until the end of the 2027 season.

Vanlalvunga, 25, joins the Highlanders of Aizawl FC after the conclusion of his contract with the I-League side.

At Aizawl FC he registered eight goals and nine assists in 37 performances for two seasons. His performances in the 2024–25 – five goals and six assists campaign in 20 games – played a crucial role in helping his party to prevent relegation.

«Is from Mizoram, I am really pleased to become a member of Northeast United FC. It is a club that represents the region and one that I have always dreamed of playing,» said Vanlalvunga.

«Lalbiakdika is an excellent addition to our forward line. He is consistent, intelligent and one of the most promising Indian attackers. His versatility gives us depth in the last third part, and I am convinced that with the right environment he can develop into a professional at the highest level,» Juan said.

Lalbiakdika will be the second Indian signing of the summer of Northast United FC, after the arrival of Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia. The duo will join the Highlanders at the top while the 2024 Durand Cup champions kick off their preseason in Guwahati on July 13.

India secures three bronze medals, four final berths on 32nd Asian junior individual championships 2025

India continues its great performance on the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Championship 2025 and secures four final berths and three bronze medals in the semi -final.

AryaVeer Dewa came in the final of the boys U-17, while Ayaan D was eligible for the U-13 Summit collision. Top-Seede Anahat Singh achieved the U-19 Girl Final, and Sanvi Kalanki reached the U-15 girls final.

India also achieved three bronze medals-Amarya Bajaj in the Boys U-13 category, Aryaman Singh in the boys U-15 and Anika Dubey in the Girls U-17.
