Indian Sports Wrap, September 4: Indian Golf Premier League reveals agenda for the coming season

The Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) unveiled a complete swing of 11 tournaments spread over the next four months, via its co-founder and brand ambassador, Cricketer Yuvraj Singh, here Thursday.

The first tournament starts next week, on September 10, in the Chandigarh Golf Club. The ten IGPL tournaments are played for three days with 36 men, 12 women, apart from a few amateurs.

The key line as stated by the CEO of IGPL, Uttam Singh Mundy was: «There will be no cutbacks and there will be guaranteed money».

The rest of the tournaments are planned in Greater Noida, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and also Dubai and Colombo.

In addition, there will be a regular Asian Tour -fairly sanctioned tournament in Kensville Golf Resort from 27 to 30 November.

Pranavi to lead Indian Challenge on the Houston Championship

Golfer Pranavi Urs will lead the Indian challenge at the Houston Championship, the fourth event of the Pif Global Series this year, from here on Friday.

Pranavi, who had to miss many earlier events due to a wrist injury, hopes to return for the second half of the season.

With Diksha Dagar who is the event in Golfcrest Country Club, the other two Indians in the Rookie Avani Prashanth and the experienced TVesa Malik are in the Rookie Avani Prashanth field.

In the tournament, 104 professionals will compete in both the 36-hole team competition and the 54-Holes individual Stroke Play competition.

Pranavi, a former multiple winner on her home, is still looking for her first victory over the Let.

For the team event, she is located next to Belgium’s Manon de Roey, Daniela Darquea from Ecuador and the German golfer Polly Mack.

The teammates of Avani are Laura Fuenfstueck from Gemrany, Rosie Davies from England and Vanessa Bouvet from France.

While Tvesa cooperates with Darcey Harry van Wales, the German Olivia Cowan and the Italian golfer Virginia Elena Carta.

A total of 26 teams consisting of four professionals will participate in the tournament with team captains selected using the official Rolex Women’s World Golf ranking lists from 25 August.

Each captain chose one professional to be in their team, meanwhile the third and fourth members were randomly chosen.

Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2025 to restart on 5 September
