India loses to Turkiye
The India Under-17 men’s team lost 0-1 to Türkiye in the first of two friendly matches against the hosts at the Emirhan Sport Center in Manavgat, Antalya.
Türkiye scored the opening goal in the 13th minute from the penalty spot after Lawmsangzuala brought down Eymen Erdoğan just inside the penalty area. The winger of 1. FC Köln took the penalty himself and pushed it into the bottom left corner.
India will use these friendlies to prepare for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia later this year. The Blue Colts will face Türkiye again on February 12 at the same venue.

Diksha, Pranavi and Aditi are among five Indians teeing off in Riyadh
Five Indians will be fielding when the new season of the Ladies European Tour (LET) 2026 kicks off with the PIF Saudi Ladies International at the Riyadh Golf Club.
The tournament will take place from Wednesday to Saturday, and Diksha Dagar, the top-ranked Indian at 25th in 2025, will look to improve her ranking to get into the Top-3, as she did in 2023 pdf view.
The other golfers are: Avani Prashanth, who is having a fantastic first season at LET, Pranavi Urs, who did well to recover from an injury mid-year and Hitaashee Bakshi, who sealed her card with a fine top-3 finish as three Indians were in the top-5 at the Hero Indian Open.
Also playing at the event is Aditi Ashok, who split her time between the LPGA and the LET, where she won five times.
The LET has announced record prize money for the 2026 season, with players competing for more than 40 million euros for the first time in its history.

Bogey-free Tvesa takes the lead on the first lap in the third stage of the WPGT
Indian golfer Tvesa Malik fired the only bogey-free round on the opening day of the third leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour to take the sole lead in Pune.
In an attempt to regain the form and rhythm that made her one of the best players in India, Tvesa had one birdie on each side of the course.
A total of 44 players played the Rs. 17 lakh event.
In second place was Anvitha Narender (71), who parred the last ten holes after three birdies and two bogeys in the first eight holes.
Two amateurs Priya Kumari and Lavanya Gupta even scored a par 72 and finished in a tie for third place. Lavanya might well have been tied for the lead, save for the two closing bogeys at the 17th and 18th.
