Indian women play practice match against Nepal in Gangtok


The Indian senior football team will play a practice match against Nepal at the Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on Wednesday.

The match comes just two days after India and Nepal faced each other in the Tri-Nation International Friendlies. Nepal came out on top, thanks to a brace from Sabitra Bhandari.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Golay will be the chief guest for the match, which is organized by the Sikkim Football Association. It has also been announced that the competition is free to enter.

«Sikkim is excited to see an international match between India and Nepal on our doorstep at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok. We are grateful to Shri Kalyan Chaubey, President of AIFF, for giving us this opportunity. Moreover, our Indian women’s team has qualified for the 2026 Asian Cup after a gap of 22 years,» said Menla Ethenpa, Chairman of the Sikkim Football Association prior to the match.

«Sikkim has been preparing for the match since last week, with special attention being paid to the maintenance of the ground. A record number of around 25,000 people are expected to visit the stadium to witness the match.»

When and where will India vs Nepal take place?

The practice match between India and Nepal will take place on Wednesday, October 29, at the Paljor Stadium in Gangtok. The match will start at 4:45 PM IST.
