I-League champion Inter Kashi launched his very first full-fledged residential football academy on Friday in collaboration with Dalims Sunbeam School, Chaubeypur, on Friday.
The inauguration took place on the occasion of the India’s Independence Day.
The Inter Kashi Residential Football Academy is currently the home of 57 players in the categories under 14, under 18 and under 18, which represent 16 districts of Uttar Pradesh and nine states from all over India.
While the Academy is for the time being, the club is planning to add girls next year.
«We have built two grounds – one full size and one for 7V7. Both have natural lawns,» said Dineh Negi, head of the development of youth.
«We want to continue to invest for five years to build a good football academy such as in Europe. Total planned investment is RS. 20 Crore,» he added. The club has invested RS. 2 crore so far in this academy.
«Ninety percent of the children come from Uttar Pradesh, because we want to build local players with a vision of playing with playing home in 2030,» said Negi.
