Christmas is quickly approaching and the year is drawing to a close. I have two weeks left until I retire. Two weeks to not work for the first time in 55 years (I’m 68). I plan to fully enjoy this last Christmas as a priest and pastor with my beloved church family. And then?
I will spend the first two months of 2026 preparing to hike the Appalachian Trail starting in early March. Crazy? You betcha! I’ll go as far as my creaky old body will let me and I’ll have a great time trying, no matter how far I go. My spare room is filled with six months’ worth of backpacking gear and dehydrated food. My dear husband will hold the fort and our lives for the duration of my hiking antics.
The name of my path is Godspeed. So every time I sign my name, it will be a blessing to those with whom I share the path. Retired registered nurse, Episcopal priest and pastor, public theologian, mischievous mystic, and happy walking heretic.
I can’t wait to see you out there!
