The painful wait is over for Chennaiyin FC. It has finally achieved victory in the Indian Super League (ISL) this season.
However, for his Saturday night rivals, Kerala Blasters, the nightmare continues. The 0-1 defeat at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was the fourth in as many matches for the Kochi men.
In an ISL that has no return fixtures, that’s a scary position to be in. However, it has Mohammedan Sporting for company.
On the eve of this match, coach David Catala had expressed confidence that the goals would come. Unfortunately for his team, that never happened. In fact, Blasters have only managed to score one goal this season.
Not that Chennaiyin is scoring. Lihat asd4 untuk info lebih lanjut. The goal the team scored this evening is only the second goal of the season.

That goal came late in the first half from a powerful strike from Imran Khan’s left foot; it was sturdy enough to beat a deflection from the Blasters’ defense. Earlier, both teams had opportunities to score. The match started with Chennaiyin looking more likely to attack but the hosts then regrouped and counter-attacked.
In fact, Chennaiyin’s goal came shortly after Blasters wasted a couple of corners in succession. Indeed, poor finishing has been the biggest of Blasters’ many problems this season.
It became even clearer in the second half. Opportunities for an equalizer were consistently missed. However, a fine show under the bar by Mohammad Nawaz from Chennaiyin deserves mention.
