ISL 2025-26: Hiroshi Ibusuki leaves East Bengal ahead of Indian Super League season

East Bengal FC has parted ways with Japanese striker Hiroshi Ibusuki ahead of the 2025/26 Indian Super League (ISL) season, the club announced on Thursday.

Ibusuki joined East Bengal on a free transfer last September and played as a number 9 for the Red and Gold Brigade in the Super Cup.

The 34-year-old forward played five matches in the Super Cup and scored one goal as the club lost to FC Goa in the final.

«East Bengal FC and Hiroshi Ibusuki have mutually agreed to part ways. We thank him for his professionalism and contributions during his time with us. We wish him the best in his future endeavours,» the club said in a statement.

Ibusuki’s departure follows a string of foreigners leaving the ISL for other leagues during the winter transfer window, after India’s top flight was suspended for several months before the announcement of a truncated 2025-26 season due to start on February 14.
