ISL 2025-26: SC Delhi draws at home against Jamshedpur FC

Sporting Club Delhi’s first home match of the 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season against Jamshedpur FC produced a 1-1 draw at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Thursday.

SC Delhi forward Joseph Sunny’s strike in the 21st minute was canceled out by Nikola Stojanovic’s equalizer in the 89th minute for the visitor.

The opening goal of the match came after midfielder Abdul Hudu Lamgoulen found Semkholun on the right wing. The full-back dodged his marker and sent a teasing cross into the six-yard box that Jamshedpur goalkeeper Albino Gomes failed to deal with adequately.

The ball rebounded to Matija Babovic, who became the provider with a clever pass to Sunny on his left. The 22-year-old forward from Kerala grabbed his chance with a clever finish past Gomes.

As the first half progressed, Jamshedpur had plenty of opportunities. In the 34th minute, Stojanovic picked out Rei Tachikawa with a left-footed cross from the right. Had Tachikawa shot at his first touch, he would have tested Delhi’s defence. Instead, he initially appeared to control the ball with his right thigh, wasting precious seconds.

Amid a spell of heavy rain, the restart saw Jamshedpur pressing sharply for an equalizer. Although the Owen Coyle-coached side shaded possession in the second half, clear-cut chances were few and far between.

With just a minute of regulation time remaining, Stojanovic’s strike from outside the penalty area, aided by a slight deflection off defender Rafael Alves, beat Nora Fernandes in the Delhi goal.
