Bengaluru FC has appointed Pep Munoz as its new head coach for the remainder of the 2025-26 season of the Indian Super League (ISL), the club announced on Thursday yfbr.
Munoz, holder of the UEFA Pro license, joins the club on a free transfer and succeeds interim manager Renedy Singh. Renedy, a former India captain, had taken over the side following the departure of Gerard Zaragoza following Bengaluru’s group stage exit from the Super Cup.
Munoz was previously assistant coach for Barcelona’s age group teams before moving to Cambodia as manager of Premier League side Svay Rienga, with whom he won the top-flight title twice and the Cambodian Cup once.
However, his most recent coaching stint was a forgettable stint with Chinese Super League club Shenzhen Peng City FC last year. After taking over as head coach in July, he coached ten games, winning only two, and mutually parted ways with the club.
At Bengaluru, he will look to redeem himself and the club, which last won the ISL title in 2019.
In the current season so far, the Blues have won three of their six matches, losing just once, and face Super Cup champions FC Goa on April 4 after the international break.
