It is the final countd account … – The walk

Next Wednesday, when I wake up, it will be at the base of Mount Katahdin. Those were the first thoughts I had while I woke up. Today, first, I didn’t take many photos. UPS. But secondly, I had breakfast more thanks to the poet! And this time, I was saved a pancake, which was highly appreciated. Another meal closer to Katahdin.

It still makes it ridiculously hot, so I couldn’t do much. I sent a message to Chris from Liteof Pakcs to see if he could also fit for a package, since even if I could not get one in time for now, it would be good to get one for the future. Many seem to be happy with their packages, so it can’t go wrong.

The morning was once again another lazy, mostly going to the supermarket in an attempt to discover what food I wanted. Between him and the poet, he was having a little analysis analysis of what to eat. I have not planned 6 days of food … never. What happens if I get tired of that? Hey, I just have to deal with that. He grabbed a lot of the «mixture of survival snacks» of the natural valuables as my source of nuts and brioche buns. (Apart: the mixture of survival snacks is the tastiest of all. I think it is due to the lack of M&M. In fact, I prefer it without chocolates). I wanted to return to my original carbohydrate source and take some bars. But, unfortunately, there is no luck there; Bars are not found.

For lunch, there is a last option that I have not tried yet. Leapin ‘Lenas, the shelter on the other side of the street, has a pizza oven and offers pizzas freshly baked by hikers for $ 10! I grabbed one with a ton of meat and vegetables, and then I made a little more running through the shelter while I waited for him to be ready. Most of the hikers I knew had already left, but FP and Punch were still waiting for one of Punch’s friends who tried to walk with the 100 mile desert with them. Honestly, I feel that I have seen that this happens many times: many people think they can join a trip through the 100MW, but it is not so simple. He through Hiker, while his body breaks down, is still much better than those recently out of the couch. I’ve already seen him fail with Gator’s uncle … Now he is spending the rest of his time waiting for Shaw to Muddy and Gator finish his walk. So I hope the best, but preparing to rescue.

After eating and spending time at the investment table, I went to the Monson Library in a last attempt to be completely trapped in the blog. Absolutely failed in that again. At least the air conditioning was a good postponement, but again I could not focus.

At 3, I met Chris from Liteof! He helped me to measure me for a package, and we talked a bit about the design of the pack, but we were both trying to fight the drowsiness we felt. The heat was intense! He put the measures and told me that if I wanted, I could ask for the package after the walk. What probably plan to do. I joke a lot about being (with) walks instead of through the holes, but I know that at the time I get home, the outdoor call will return to one day. Maybe not during the rest of this fall, but next spring?

While I was away, I found a last face that I don’t have at ages: JC! He and I met at the Smokies, when I was walking with Crazy, Jupiter, T-Dog, etc. Our roads enter and left a little, before him and the cheese, the curd slowed to finish his flip-flop together, before he began to stun. He and I updated the people we have met along the way. Here, I also met the trip to the 100 MW Ridgerunner, and Electro, the Bigelows Ridgerunner. I actually met Electro before, when I worked at Angel’s Rest Hiker Haven. His brightness work began just when Norovirus’s outbreak also began … so he is a bit grateful for that.

We spent a lot of time yearning all night, as usual. Get ice cream, relax, talk about packaging and packaging. Much discussion about Baxter’s permits system, hikers we have known, things to take into account, things like that. Although most of the 100MW are in a smaller elevation with ponds along the way, there is still a section, the 16 miles of the mountains of the chair, which is essentially dry. So … more anxiety!

JC helped me sew my shorts. I am not very good with a needle and a thread, but he showed me how to make a stitch of staircase, which he also learned from his PCT through a walk. I alleged some patches and called him one day. I hope it remains!

I also spent a time trying to convince Jolly not to use Chatgpt to plan his walk. As a software engineer, I know how easy it is for the hallucinar, and many many People have gotten into trouble. I don’t think I take it very seriously, until we review your plan and I already pointed out some obvious mistakes. Hopefully learn. AI is useful for some things! But for your life? Trust yourself.

It is still too hot here. It is supposed to eventually become cooler, but not much. But it’s time to move on.

Thanks Shaw! What a great place.
