The 2025-2026 Indian Women’s League (IWL) season will be played in two phases, with the first phase taking place in the December-January period and the second in the April-May period.
The decision was taken at a virtual meeting between the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the IWL clubs on Thursday, with the exact dates of the first phase to be finalized later. Accordingly, the initial phase of the competition is likely to begin on December 20 and continue until January 6.
Both phases will likely be played in two centralized locations: one in each phase. Both stadiums in Goa – hosting the ongoing AIFF Super Cup – GMC Stadium in Bambolim and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao, have been discussed but a final decision on the venues of IWL is yet to be taken.
