Jobe Bellingham ‘Afraid’ about following Jude at Borussia Dortmund

Jowe Bellingham admitted on Tuesday that he had «fears» about following the footsteps of Brother Jude after he came to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Jowe, 19, is two years younger than Jude, who came to Real Madrid after three years at Dortmund in 2023.

Jude, a center of the national team of England, has been one of the best players in the world in recent seasons.

The younger Bellingham came to Dortmund from Sunderland in June after the promotion of the Premier League.

Jowe admitted that he understood what the perception for moving to Germany would run.

«It’s something you think about. You have these fears, especially me because I am only young,» said Bellingham reporters in the pre-season camp of Dortmund in Austria.

“I am not perfect. I think of these things, but that was the club that convinced me that these things would not have much to me.

«This was a decision I made and it’s for myself. My journey is not from anyone else to understand,» he added.

Bellingham made his Dortmund debut in the club World Cup in the United States, scored once and offered an assist in four games.

As he did in Sunderland, the younger Bellingham bears his first name Jobe on the back of his sweater instead of his last name to prevent comparisons with his brother or sister.

Jowe said that his older brother was «extremely proud – he didn’t have much to say other than» hug «, when he found out that he was on his way to Dortmund, but added:» Our conversations are usually not so serious. «

The midfielder, who usually plays in a deeper role than his brother, said that he «didn’t want to be superstar … I don’t want to be a big character away from the field.

«If I play, I just want to be one of the best performing players and bring my head down.»

Dortmund opens his season in Essen in the first round of the German cup on August 18.
