Jonny Evans Retires: Where are the last Premier League-title-winning party of Manchester United


On Monday, Jonny Evans – who announced his retirement from football – was appointed head of Loans and Paths of Manchester United.

The 37-year-old will also work closely with director of Voetbal Jason Wilcox and the director of the Academy, the club announced.

Evans was the last player of the Premier League-winning team 2012-13 to donate the United Jersey after the Northern Ireland International returned for his second Stint in Old Trafford in 2023.

Here is a look at some of the active players from that team and where they are currently playing their football.

David de Gea

The 34-year-old keeper, who left United two years ago after spending 12 years in the club, joined the Serie A Club Fiorentina after a year of football.

The Spaniard control kept 11 clean sheets in the competition and helped the side sixth to book a place in the UEFA Conference League play-off round of next season.

Chris Smalling

The 35-year-old Center-Back is currently playing for Saudi Pro League side Al-Fayha.

Smalling spent almost a decade in United before he came to the Italian side in a permanent deal in 2020. He spent four in the Serie A before he came to his current club.

Javier Hernandez

Chicharito has had his trade in the Mexican club Guadalajara, a club for which he played before he played at United, since 2024.

The 37-year-old attacker has so far succeeded in just finding it only twice in 25 performances in two seasons.

Ashley Young

The 39-year-old full-back is currently a free agent after having spent the last two seasons in the Premier League with Everton.

Young spent nine years in Old Trafford, won the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup apart from the PL title in 2013.

Danny Welbeck

The 34-year-old attacker, who graduated from the famous United Academy in Carrington, is currently playing for Brighton in the Premier League.

The Engelsman has spent five years with the Seagulls so far and scored 33 goals in the competition for the side.

Shinji kagawa

The Japanese Shinji Kagawa joined United by Borussia Dortmund prior to the 2012-2013 season and played in 20 games in the competition and scored six times.

The now 36-year-old spent three seasons with the Red Devils before returning to Dortmund in Germany.

Alexander Buttner

Dutchman Alexander Buttner has just played 13 games in the Premier League and is one of the lesser-known names to lift the title of 2012-13 under Alex Ferguson.

The 36-year-old now plays for Vitesse, a club that plays in the second division of the Netherlands.
