Joy CDT teams - The Trek

At the end of June, I will go walking through the continental divide Trail. In the weeks before the path, I finished my team and took my pack for a test walk. Here is a general description of the team that I will take with me. You can find my complete gear list on my author page. When I get there, do not hesitate to subscribe to be notified when I publish.

Shelter, sleep and package system

On my AT Thru walk, I used the Duplex Zpacks tent and I really loved it during the rainy days to have additional space to dry the equipment in my store. I used it from a good friend and during the AZT (thousands of miles and expected wear), the store was not reliable for another walk. It had been repaired several times by cactus and the zippers did not always want to cooperate. I loved the store so much that when I discovered that Zpacks made a lighter version of the same store, I went with the Duplex Lite Zpacks Store. I also bought the ZPACKS 48 ″ of chicken carbon fiber tent As I currently have a trekking post (I lost one on my Azt walk) and I will need two posts to configure the store.

For my sleeping bag I am using a 0 ° F Illuminated equipment accumulation of sleeping. I bought this in 2020 for a winter backpacking trip at the Grand Winter Canyon where the climate was expected in the individual digits. If I still didn’t have a quilt that I could use for this trip, I would go with a 10F Illustrated Team. I prefer to have a zipper (I used a zipacks 20 ° F zipout quota for at) while I throw and sleep and wake up with air currents even with the pad straps. To relieve this, I have added a little brand Velcro Sleek and thin for fabrics to secure the sleeping sack between the pads of the pad.

I will use the sleeping bag with the Nemo tensor elite ultralight isolated sleeping insulation. For a long time I was strongly against inflatable pads. They can obtain holes that leave it almost without value R until they are repaired, they are very loud in shelters and around other campists, and the worst of all take so much energy after a long day of hiking to fly them. In the JMT I would have to take breaks during my pad inflation to recover the breath to elevation and swore them. Then, I discovered that the technology of inflatable pads has traveled a long way and it was worth trying again. This Nemo pad lasted in the AZT desert for more than 600 miles, it is relatively quiet by changing at night and combines with the Alpenglow Gear Alpenblow Micro Inflator Take out the effort to inflate the pad at night.

My backpack is the Gossamer Gear Gorilla 50 Ultralight Backpack. Align my package with a garbage bag from the Super Tuff Brute compactor, 20 gallons and I have another waterproof layer with two Hyperight mountain equipment pods (13L+9L). I walked the path of the Apalaches using the Gossamer Gear G4-20 Ultralight 42 backpack and I loved the durability and design of the package, but I wanted something with a longer food and water frame and the water takes the AZT and now to CDT. I also like the additional capacity that prevents french fries and the additional snacks of the city from being awkwardly to the upper or in the front pocket. Outside the package, I have added the mesh bag that comes with the Sawyer filter as an upper side pocket. This is a modification of the sewing DIY package (I used the woven shock cable through the mesh and ensure the gear loops in the package itself) that will allow me to store my spoon and cold soaking jar to facilitate access during the hiking day.

Everything I will carry with my CDT through the walk

Worn and full clothes

On the way you will see me swinging the Outdoor research for women with eco hood with 5 «cyclist shorts for 5» 5 «. I have used this same brand of shorts for more than 3,000 miles and are affordable and durable. I will use Rei Co-Op on the path of the path for sun protection along with a Gaiter with amateur neckand Goodr and sunglasses. I will be walking on my feet Feetures Trail Max Cushion Mini Crew And the path will begin in Altra Women’s Lone Peak 7.

One thing to take into account about my full and worn clothes is that synthetic use on natural fibers. I have an allergy to the wool that leaves my skin with itching and red, so I chose fabrics for this walk that have not been irritating to my skin passed through walks. In the camp I will change to me Hardwear Airmesh Sampanía mountain for women and Light women of Montbell Zeo. I chose hoodie and alpha fleece, since I couldn’t find an alpha in my size and neutral color.

I will wear for the cold Montbell Women’s Plasma 1000 Down JacketA new piece of equipment that replaced my ghost Hardware Whisperer of mountain. I am looking forward to trying and comparing a jacket without a hood with the hood that I used previously. I did my own fleece poler (in orange for hunting areas in the CDT), and I have Manzella women’s power stretch gloves with Mittbell Ul Shell Mitten.

I have also updated my rain jacket to the Montbell’s women’s voice jacket Saving more than a 1/4 pound of weight from the Mountain Hardware Academy. In rain I will also use the ZPACKS VERTIXE Rainy pants for women.

Practice a walk with my new Sun hoodie near Prescott, Arizona

Kitchen

PLANE TO START THE PATH WITH A SENFING STEFA. I will use the Toaks Ultralight Titanium 550 ml of pot with BRS 3000T stove. I will also keep the fuel can, the handkerchief and a slight mini bic in my wrapped pot using Grifiti Cruciate Bands. I will eat with him Long Titanium Mango Spoon toaks with polished bowl.

I can change cold crying in summer and I will use a Glad Lockware’s small food storage container, 16 ounces. I will try this new on the path and see how I like it compared to the talenti jar. The food of my resupply boxes will be compatible with cold soaking.

I will filter my water using a Sawyer compression water filter system and Water container cnoc 28 mm along with a 1L smart bottle. I maintain an additional toric joint and the cleaning coupler to ensure that the filter has everything you need to work in the field.

Electronics

In my electronic bag I always carry 2 external battery banks. In the past, I have had a battery bank, and I have needed more juice of 10,000 mAh for long periods between cities and this gives me the peace of mind that I can use my phone and other electronic products without worrying that they would die along the way. I will be using two NB10000 Gen 2 Power Bank by Nitecore. I will keep them in a DIY Zipper bag that I made of a cheap Amazon Galaxy print poncho. In the city I will load my electronics that connects to a Anker Dual Port 12W USB A block of loaders with folding plug and several cables and adapters USB C. Other electronic that will need to load in the city include my NU25 400 rechargeable lumens of light by nitecoremy Garmin Inreach Mini 2, iPhone 13 Miniand Apple Airpods Pro 2.

Rijonera

My Fanny Pack is my favorite team piece for hiking. I love how versatile it is to keep things organized and within reach, and also to have a bag while in the city. I also like the mental part to have the most important articles, such as the wallet and the phone, in my person when they reach the city or when I use the bathroom away from the path. I grabbed an ULA DEL NOC’s riñones package on my AT Thru walk and have been used a lot and love. For this path I am changing to a LIEAF Feathery Fanny. I really liked the fun colors and the size and shape are similar to my previous package.

I am a hiker that if I can’t access him while walking, I will probably not stop and take my package to get it. I have had bad chafas, blisters, headaches and solar burns because I didn’t want to grab the things I needed from inside my song bag. This is why I have many things in my fanny woman.

I keep my phone, air capsules, sunglasses, in the Hiker wallet since the days of trails in Damascus and a handkerchief in the main bag along with salt, ibuprofen and benadryl tabs in a small bag wrapped in leukotapia. I also keep an additional zipbolt to store my electronics if it is raining. In the back bag of the Pack Fanny, I have a small bottle of Dr. Bronner soap, hand disinfectant, UPF Lip Balm Balm MEDICATED BLISTEX MEDICATED, Cerave Sunsween Stick, Aquaphor, Swiss Army Multitool, EAR, and LightCore Tiki Tiki Tiki. I will turn off my phone at night to keep the battery feed and have a digital clock for children to configure an alarm and verify the time attached to the side strap of the package.

Content of my slot

First aid and hygiene

The few first aid items that I will wear include a needle and a thread for gear repairs, my inflatable and super glue pads repair kit, dinemable repair tape, safety pin, some band aid, leukotapia, kt tape and gauze pads. I will also carry medicine that includes ibuprofen, benadryl, anti-Diaral, drama, tums, neosporine and an emergency antibiotic course. Previously I had an infected insect bite and urinary infection while I was through hiking and I would like to take care of these problems before potentially waiting 2-3 days before reaching the city to access a doctor and medicine. I also carry water purification eyelashes if my water filter fails.

For the bathroom I will use the Kula cloth for #1 and ThetentLab The Dirtsaw Deuce #3 TROWEL FOR #2. The Kula fabric is on an flagship reel so that I don’t need to take my backpack so much throughout the day.

At the end of the day, I will use wet wipes to clean my face and the toothbrush of a child to brush your teeth. All my song will be stored in a dry bag at the top.

Seasonal additions

For possible snowed conditions in the Glacier National Park I will bring Cimkiz Microspikes (Amazon) and an ice ax rented from East Glacier. I will also start with a Net mosquitoes of Ozark Trail Head Mosquito That will be sent home after Buggy summer. In the summer I will add a Kafka Kool’s tie And you can add a sleeveless shirt for a city shirt like luxury. Once I leave the country, I will change my Ursack major and OPSACK Odorproof Bag For a Dyneem food bag. At the end of autumn I can add a Illuminated Torrid Vest team for women since it has a hood and would combine well with my Montbell swollen jacket. Other luxury items that I am considering for parts of the walk include homemade camp shoes made with old sneakers (4 oz) and a tripod (5 oz).

Packing Verification List for CDT

Conclusion

This is my last team list that plans to take with me on the CDT to the south in just a few weeks. I am trying to balance articles that make me feel comfortable on the road, as warmer clothes and sleeping bag, limiting the weight of my package and this is a balance that I think will work well for me. My complete gear list can be found below. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and try to answer them in an upcoming publication.
