Jude Bellingham appeared to injure his left hamstring and had to be replaced after ten minutes in Real Madrid’s home match against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Sunday.
Bellingham was on his own when he appeared to suffer the injury and quickly requested a replacement. He immediately grabbed the back of his leg with his left hand before going to the ground. He received medical attention and appeared emotional as he left the field alone.
The England international was replaced by Brahim Díaz, who assisted Vinícius Júnior’s goal five minutes later to make it 1-0 to Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
A win takes Madrid within one point of leaders Barcelona, who won 3-1 at Elche on Saturday.
The 22-year-old Bellingham has scored one goal in his last seven games with Madrid. This season he scored six goals for the club.
