Just to get some pizza

Although yesterday’s forecast predicted the rain, he said we would not get any until the afternoon. So imagine how surprised I was when I woke up with the sounds of torrential downpours. Ah. Beautiful. Luckily I have a single wall tent store, and none of my store doors opens. The perfect day was sleeping without a fly, but fortunately it was already full when it hit the rain.

She and I had breakfast, and she left while I kept working on my breakfast and coffee sandwich. It was a bit sad that we arrived at the Greymoor spiritual center so late last night … It’s a beautiful place! And comfortable and quiet. I slept incredibly in my grass bed, without even my pad. Although I went to bed without a quilt (since it was hot), today’s temperature fell tremendously, and the day was actually colder than the night temperature (last night ended around 85, today it begins at 77)!

He went out and they already. But I was slow. Of course, it only rained, and there was a bit of breeze. But the air was still snack of the heat wave the day before. So I wasn’t doing a good speed. In addition, the path was rocky again. I fell with the Harriman and Bear Mountain National Park, it seems that Hudson Highlands returns more to the «backcountry.»

I arrived at the Dennytown camp around noon. A unique thing in New York is the lack of shelters between Harriman State Park and Canopus Beach. It is a 30 -mile section. This is partly due to a redise that cut the West Mountain refuge, but I have also heard that it was because there were populations not made that used them. Which is unfortunate that it was the only place to which they could resort. I think Dennytown used to be a shelter. However, it could be wrong.

Anyway, here I met Sir Stops-a-Lot, an angel of trails that makes food for walkers! Unfortunately, I met him while I was packing from the morning, but I still had drinks and snacks for me. He vorted to me, a perfect day and a boy that I have not met before, Vaquero. The stories of Sir Stops-A-Lot about the civil war that recreate and are on the set of Gettysburg They were great. Getting food also revived me.

I decided today to appear in those who ran Superfeet that I got from Delaware Water Gap. And I can’t say if they are making a positive difference. I can feel that my foot is more protected from the rough terrain here (so I suppose I should have had it during Pennsylvania, haha), but at the same time my legs feel weird …

The path to Canopus Beach was quite level. At some point, there is an old mining road, and then another goes up the Shenondoah mountain. However, I was surprised by the number of people who come out of backpack today. It’s a Thursday! I mean, there were the hikers in the section and through hikers, what I expected. But weekend warriors? They may want to overcome the multitudes of July 4 next week.

There was also the infamous phone of the wind while it was on its way. It is intended to be a place to connect with those they have lost. I spent time here to listen and cry, and then moved on.

Even with the impulse of the free of noon, I could feel that I was sleepy going to the RPH shelter. RPH, or the Ralph Peak Hiker’s cabin, is a fresh shelter that is just a converted house. The patio is available for camping, and the cabin has literas. As you are on the way, you can also ask for pizza there. I ran back to Candyman and Feafy here, both were tired of having walked in the heat wave the previous two days. Yeowch I can’t imagine being out for the vertex of that heat wave. Tons killed me.

But, this was not my stop for the day. I stop here around 6 to collect water and chat a little, before continuing! Why would it continue if there is pizza here? Well … we’ll see.

The next climb, to Horner Montain, was steep. But, with good reception and a Spotify library, I began to crush the miles again. I have not listened to music while walking a little … and now I remembered how much of being able to crush some serious miles. I was finally collecting my feet again, after a very slow day.

Normally, the slow rhythm means that I am not humorous to walk. But today, I loved it again. My feet are still more sore than they should be … but with the temperature some normal place? I feel that I can finally move again. It feels great.

One up and down later, and my destination was in sight: Gelatarian pizza Corrado. In him, Antonio, the owner, gave me an additional portion about what I asked. So I had three slices of Pepperoni pizza and a sausage and Calzone peppers. As well as a little ice cream. While I was here, I was talking to some locals about my trail experience. Passing from Georgia to Maine … etc. Many here thought that the AT was just an old random travel route, before learning that they walked when they worked in the pizzeria.

The best part? Pizzeria and Delicatessen allow camping on the back. Only here, I put my tent and put on the grass again. It’s colder tonight, so I will need my pad, but still. Plane, covered with grass. What else can I ask for?
