US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the John F. Kennedy Center for the performing arts in Washington in Washington will organize the World Cup draw 2026.
«On December 5 of this year, the FIFA World Cup draw from 2026 will be held in the Kennedy Center,» Trump announced in a press conference. FIFA president Gianni Infantino was also present.
Trump’s announcement comes if he supervises a 257 million renovation in the Kennedy Center, of which Trump has said it will be a center of the 250th US Anniversary Celebrations next year.
The World Cup 2026 is co -organized by the United States, Canada and Mexico the first with 48 teams and will contain 104 games.
Canada will organize 13 competitions, including 10 in the group stage that evenly split between Toronto and Vancouver. Mexico also gets 13 games, including 10 during the group stage in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. The rest of the tournament will be held in 11 cities in the United States.
FIFA, the administrative body of Global Football, has already put boots on site in the United States in preparation for the four -yearly spectacle that field offices in Miami and at Trump Tower in New York has set up.
