Kerala Blasters FC signed Spanish centre-back Juan Rodriguez Martinez ahead of the 2025/26 season, the club announced on Thursday.
The 30-year-old defender joins the Blasters after a campaign with CD Lugo in the Spanish Primera Federacion, where he played in 36 games.
Martinez rose through the youth ranks at Racing Ferrol and has since represented several Spanish clubs, including Sporting Gijon, Gimnastic de Tarragona, San Fernando CD, SD Amorebieta, Algeciras CF and most recently CD Lugo.
During his professional career he has played more than 200 matches in the Spanish leagues.
“We are delighted to welcome Juan to the team. He has extensive experience in the Spanish leagues. His leadership qualities and composure make him a valuable addition to our defensive line-up,” said Karolis Skinkys, sporting director of Kerala Blasters.
Martinez will join his new teammates in Goa for the club’s pre-season camp, subject to clearing the medical, as Kerala Blasters intensify preparations for the Super Cup.
