Khalid Jamil names chances for Asian Cup qualifier against Bangladesh; Chhetri, Sahal and Liston miss it


Khalid Jamil, head coach of the Indian national men’s team, on Wednesday announced a 23-member list of likely candidates for his side’s upcoming FIFA International match.

India will play Bangladesh in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifier at the National Stadium in Dhaka on November 18.

With the team out of contention for Asian Cup qualification, Jamil has opted not to call up some regular players like Sunil Chhetri, Sahal Abdul Samad and Liston Colaco.

The team will set up camp in Bengaluru from Thursday and will travel to Dhaka on November 15.

Mohammed Sanan, who was called up to the U23 squad earlier this week, has been named in the probables and will instead join the senior team.

List of likely players for the Blue Tigers squad for the November FIFA window:

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Hrithik Tiwari, Sahil.

Defenders: Akash Mishra, Anwar Ali, Bikash Yumnam, Hmingthanmawia Ralte, Muhammed Uvais, Pramveer, Rahul Bheke, Sandesh Jhingan.

Midfielders: Ashique Kuruniyan, Brison Fernandes, Lalremtluanga Fanai, Macarton Louis Nickson, Mahesh Singh Naorem, Nikhil Prabhu, Suresh Singh Wangjam.

Forwards: Irfan Yadwad, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Mohammed Sanan, Rahim Ali, Vikram Partap Singh.
