Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe is back in training after missing his first two FIFA Club World Cup 2025 matches because of an acute case of gastroenteritis, according to reports on Monday.
Mbappe missed Madrid’s first match against Al Hilal due to illness, confirming the club that he had a fever. The French skipper was even admitted to the hospital and was later fired.
As a result, Mbappe did not travel with the team to Charlotte for his second game against Pachuca and remained back in the team hotel.

Mbappe has been an important part of Real’s attack and was the top scorer last season, with 43 goals in 56 performances in his debut year after participation from Paris Saint-Germain.
First placed Real will be confronted with the second place RB Salzburg in their last game of the group stage on 27 June.
Real must avoid the defeat against Salzburg to guarantee the qualification. A loss would take its fate from the result of Al Hilal vs Pachuca – anything but a victory for the Saudi side would still send the team of Xabi Alonso.
