Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said he believes that midfielder Fermin Lopez will stay in the club despite tires to a Chelsea switch, but he couldn’t be sure.
Spanish reports suggest that the 22-year-old is considering a deviation from the club where he developed before he made his debut in the 2023/24 campaign.
However, Flick said that Lopez was an important part of the team, because Barca offers the la Liga title and the Champions League wins for the first time since 2015.
«I spoke with him, I am convinced that he will stay, but in the end I don’t know what is happening, we have to wait – I am really happy when the market is closed,» Flick said a news conference.
“I told him my opinion, but it’s between him and me. Sometimes players have different thoughts – there are also many people around the players, who may know more than we know.

Lopez scored eight goals in 46 performances for the club last season when Barca won a domestic Treble.
Barcelona got a blow to Sunday’s La Liga game in Rayo Vallecano when Gavi withdrew from the team with knee discomfort.
Flick said that the Spaniard, who will also not participate in the upcoming world cup qualification matches of Spain, could return for the next match of the club against Valencia in mid -September.
