Atletico has overhauled his team in the summer and the coach said he thinks it will take his team some time to click, with results that reflect that.
«We have to do better, we have to do more,» said Atletico -goalkeeper Jan Oblak Movistar. «We are angry and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth, we need more points and it is our fault.»

Atletico struggled on the road in 2025, but took the lead by Giuliano. The winger took a loose ball after scrambling in the box, showed Grit to force his way past a defender and to be driven home at the nearby post.
Striker Alexander Sorloth gave Alaves a way back when he polluted Nahuel Tenaglia in the box. Vicente sent Oblak in the wrong direction of the place to level the score in Mendizorroza.
Antonio Sivera saved a great save to deny Sorloth in the second half when Atletico was looking for a winner. Rojiblancos Replacement Antoine Griezmann hit the pole up close.

Sivera saved another fine from a Sorloth header while Alaves buried to secure his point.
After a supporter needed medical help earlier, 15 minutes were added, but Atletico could not find a winner.
Later on Saturday, Real Madrid organizes Mallorca, while Champion Barcelona visits Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, among other things.
