Lamine Yamal takes over Messi’s iconic Barcelona No. 10 sweater

Lamine Yamal carries the iconic Jersey no. 10 for Barcelona, announced De La Liga champion on Wednesday.

The number was supported by Lionel Messi from 2008 to 2021 when he left the club on a free transfer to Paris Saint Grmain. Before Messi, the sweater went to greats of Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Maradona.

Ansu Fati took over the song after Messi’s exit. However, because Fati completed a switch to Ligue 1 -side as Monaco, Yamal was handed over the shirt.

The 18-year-old signed a new contract with Blaugrana in May, which will hold him in the club until 2031. Yamal has shown promise as the next face of the Catalan club. In his short career, Yamal already has 104 performance and 25 goals.

He has won two La Liga titles and each a Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup.
