Late Dowman Show gives Arsenal victory over Newcastle in the preseason


The Spot-Kick by Martin Odegaard in the 84th minute extended Arsenal’s pre-season winning run in Singapore after it defeated the colleague Premier League-Kant Newcastle 3-2 at the National Stadium in Singapore on Sunday evening.

In an entertaining match, more than 38,700 fans took place, it was Newcastle who took the early advantage after scoring with his first attack in the sixth minute.

But Arsenal conquered a shaky start and regained his rhythm and control over the game.

Mikel Merino attracted level for the Gunners with a clinical attack in the 33rd minute of the Kai Havertz film.

It came forward two minutes later when Alex Murphy rumbled the ball in his own net.

The magpies admitted almost a third after the restart in the 57th minute, but owed keeper Nick Pope after he had stopped a shot with a bicycle kick from Bukayo Saka.

Against the Run of Play, replacement Jacob Murphy a minute later for Newcastle after his shot from outside the box along David Raya slept at his nearby post.

With the game apparently on the way to a draw, it was the 15-year-old Max Dowman’s deep run in the box, where he was cut by Joelinton, who turned out to be the game changer.

Odegaard then made no mistake of the spot kick to give Arsenal their second victory after their earlier 1-0 win over AC Milan.
