West Bengal Sports Minister Aroop Biswas tendered his resignation on Tuesday, three days after mismanagement in his presence during the Lionel Messi GOAT Tour led to chaos at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.
“In view of the situation that arose at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan during Messi’s visit to Calcutta on December 13, you have already constituted an inquiry committee,” Biswas wrote to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
«Therefore, in the interest of an impartial investigation, I request leave from you as Minister of Sports. I hope you will grant my request.»
