East Bengal will start their Super Cup 2025-26 campaign against Dempo SC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Saturday.
Led by head coach Oscar Bruzon, East Bengal FC heads into the Super Cup with confidence after an impressive performance in the recently concluded IFA Shield, where they narrowly missed out on the title in the final against city rivals Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the penalty shootout (4-5 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw after extra time).
The Red & Golds, who won the title once in 2024 and finished runners-up in the inaugural edition in 2018, face a resilient Dempo SC, who earned their spot as a late replacement for Real Kashmir FC. The two parties will face each other in ten years.
Dempo SC, led by former player Samir Naik, will receive home support. The ‘Golden Eagles’ are unbeaten in the ongoing edition of the Goa Pro League and occupy the fourth spot in the table with two wins and four draws in six matches.
