Liverpool marked his opening match of the Premier League season 2025-26 against Bournemouth with a tribute to his former striker Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.
A minute of silence was observed around Anfield before the game started.
The fans of Liverpool also offered a moving tribute to their former No. 20 and arranged themselves with red and white placards to play ‘DJ20’ and ‘AS30’ in honor of the two players during the moment of silence.
Fans have also delivered an emotional representation of the famous Liverpool song, you will never walk alone while the two sets of players were together, and an applause at 20 minutes.

Both former professional football players, Jota and Silva died tragically in a car accident in Spain in July.
Liverpool has already made a number of tribute to the couple, including the deduction of Jota’s no. 20 Jersey. A moment of silence was also held before the final Shield final of the Reds against Crystal Palace on Sunday, while Fans of Liverpool also applauded the 20 minutes.
The Premier League has also confirmed that a moment of silence will be held before all the first round races when the competition starts during the weekend.
