A court in Madrid confirmed on appeal on Wednesday that UEFA «abused its dominant position» by trying to prevent the creation of a European Super League in 2021, according to a legal document seen by AFP.
“UEFA and FIFA have abused their dominant positions (…) by giving themselves the discretionary power to ban (European clubs) from participating in alternative competitions,” the Public Prosecution Service said, confirming the 2023 ruling of the European Court of Justice (ECJ).
