A man was called upon to appear in court next month after an incident last season in which Leeds players Ethan Ampadu and Largie Ramazani were reportedly racially abused.
The Premier League club said the incident took place on 17 February at Elland Road after the 2-1 victory of Leeds over Sunderland in the second championship.
Ampadu and Ramazani «were subjected to racial abuse of a person in the road when they left the field,» the club said in a statement on Tuesday.
The police of West Yorkshire said on Tuesday that Steven Patterterson, 66, from Stranton Street, Bishop Auckland, Durham, was arrested on suspicion of causing racially agitated intimidation, alarm or need «and was called to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court.

It was not known whether Patterterson has a lawyer to respond to the claim.
Leeds thanked the West Yorkshire police for their support in this matter. «
«There is no room for racism in football or society,» the club said in a statement.
