Manchester City announced the signing of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi on Monday as the country faces a defensive crisis.
The club took to social media to confirm the signing.
The England defender, 25, was close to joining Liverpool on transfer deadline day in September 2025 before the transfer fell through.

Guehi captained Palace in May and enjoyed FA Cup success against City and won 26 caps for England.
City boss Pep Guardiola, whose team are second in the Premier League, seven points behind Arsenal, said the team was desperately short of defensive options.
“Without John (Stones), without Ruben (Dias), without Josko (Gvardiol) we are in a difficult situation, not for one match, but for a long, long period,” he said before Guehi’s arrival was announced.
«It’s a difficult situation. Ruben will be back soon. Josko, no. John, hopefully we’ll see.»
