Ruben Amorim insisted that his players from Manchester United proved that they are behind their underpressure manager after his Sunderland side dominated in Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Old Trafford.
In the competition, Amorim had supervised nine Premier League victories in 33 games since he took the lead in November, with some supporters called in the Portuguese manager after such a disappointing start of the new campaign.
Fans, however, sang the name of Amorim on Saturday, because goals of Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko United earned a comfortable victory that moved to eighth place for the time being, level at 10 points with rival Manchester City, who plays on Sunday.
«I saw today that I know that the players want to do their best and I know they don’t want to change the coach,» Amorim said. «But as I said (to the players) during this week:» I will kill myself to do everything in every transition. «(The team) must show that with their actions.

«Sometimes when we look at our team, I am sure that when we see the games in the end, they know that we can sometimes do better. I feel it during the week, but we have to show it on the field.»
The problem that Amorim has after a victory, because he is looking for back-to-back League victories for the first time as United Boss, that is the international break that he has to wait more than two weeks for the next game, a trip to Liverpool champion.
«There is never a momentum with our team,» Amorim added. “We know what happens when we win one game, the frustration is not to see the same team at home and gone.
«If we can’t play well, we have to stop the opposition that plays well and that is the way a large team plays during the season, so that’s the great frustration.»
