Manchester United's director of Academy Nick Cox to join Everton as technical director


Nick Cox, director of the Academy of Manchester United, plans to leave and become a member of the colleague Premier League Club Everton as technical director, announced the 13-time PL champion on Friday.

«Nick leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Manchester United and appreciation for his valuable contribution to supporting the succession of players who graduated from the Academy,» the club said in a statement.

Cox became a member of United in 2016 and later promoted to the director of the Academy in 2019. During this time, 35 Academy players reached the first team debut.

«Youth development is an important part of the lifeline of this club, with the responsibility to support this generation of young people and staff to ensure that the system continues to thrive, has been a huge privilege,» Cox said.

United also stated that Cox will stay in the club in the coming months for a smoother transition with the club with a follow -up plan.
