The former Indian national men’s head coach Manolo Marquez has returned to FC Goa for the 2025-26 season, announced the Indian Super League (ISL) Club on Friday.

Marquez returns to lead the Gaurs only a few weeks after he said goodbye to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) who brought his year -long term of office as a coach of the Blue Tigers to an end.

The Spaniard took over the Reigns as an India coach at a deal so that he could stay FC Goa coach until the end of the 2024-25 season. Earlier this year he led the way to the Super Cup title and helped to conquer a place in the AFC Champions League Two -Voor -Voorbige Ronde.

For his first assignment, Marquez will lead the club in the preliminary phase of the AFC Champions League 2, against Omani Professional League team, Al-Zeb Club, where FC Goa will play host at Fatorda on 13 August.

“It is clearly not a common presidal for us. In general, you get about six to eight weeks of training before you arrive in the first ISL game in good conditions, which have already played several domestic competitions. We are in a special situation, but a great one in the club where we also have the AFC match to watch.

Marquez initially signed for the club in 2023 for a two -year deal, and has since become the longest serving head coach of the Gaurs, with a campaign that spans 62 games over all competitions.
