The already impressive front line of Barcelona is about to be stimulated by the signing of Marcus Rashford.
Rashford is in Barcelona to complete a relocation of Manchester United, a person with knowledge of the transfer told the Associated Press Monday.
The person did not want to be called because they were not authorized to publicly speak about it.
The loan agreement would give the 27-year-old England ahead, once considered among the top talents of Europe, an opportunity to breathe new life into a career that got stuck in recent years after he got out of grace in United and on loan in Aston Villa last season.
The Spanish media said that the one -year loan agreement with United Barcelona would give an option to buy Rashford for around 30 million euros ($ 35 million).
Barcelona had the best attack in Spanish football and one of the most productive in all of Europe last season, but had tried to add a piece to the front line to join the young Ster Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and veteran Robert Lewandowski.
Rashford spent his entire career at United, scored 138 goals in 429 performances and won five major trophies, including two FA Cups and the Europa League.
But he struggled to consistently realize the hype that surrounded him when he appeared on stage as a teenager in 2016 – only 20 goals or more in three seasons. In his last two seasons at United, he scored a combined 15 goals and added four more on loan in Villa in 17 games.
Barcelona won the Spanish league title with 102 goals, 24 more than number two Real Madrid. The Catalan club also led the Champions League in goals with 43, five more than Champion Paris Saint-Germain, before being eliminated by Inter Milan in the semi-final.
