Lake tomb to Lac Gros-Ruisseau
Today I gave myself a little later alarm and even then I remained motionless later. Five or ten minutes later, I began to move. There was an occasional rain lamp on the metal shelter roof. After a quiet breakfast, I packed and got to the road.
The first bit of the day was pleasant downhill and well walking towards the Duvier de Riviere. I filled and leaked a liter of water and my back also blushed my Sawyer compression filter. Returning to the package again and fasted the flow, I left the current to start uphill. I suspected a lot of uphill today, and much of that steep, based on my Farout Scouting. He was grateful that at least the mileage, things would be much more reasonable today, about 14 miles or so.
Riviere Duvivier. I liked the scaffolding bridge.

I also appreciate the classic rotten and rotten wood bridge.
And so the Russian Mountain began chic-choc. This is what this mountain range is called, I think. From approximately 750 feet of elevation, Sumi and I shoot over 2,600. Then, we hang above 2,000 feet going up and down most of the morning before finally falling dramatically abruptly at the exit of Lake Matane. The rain was present from time to time.
He helped to know that today he was shorter and also helped to follow this series of wonderful waterfalls …
In the highest lands, I could see the surroundings. It was not a clear view, but through the trees and the brush I could see.
In Lake Matane, there was a picnic table covered with quarrels/Cenor absolutely perfect. And a perfect latrine, which before AT is what I have called all my life. I had an early break at lunch even taking away all my wet things, which were anything but my shorts. I hung my shirt, rain jacket, wet socks and rain pants to dry, but I don’t hope they have any change. Putting my fleece and dry socks felt good and it was great to be under the roof when it continued to raining.

Sumi was quite partial to chocolate cookies full of raspberry jelly.

MAP-O-FROUD! Only straight sugar.
While I was, I checked the weather using my Garmin Inreach. I don’t think I do this often, but I wanted to see what the rest of the day was like.
Whether it is necessary or not, I thought it was better that I can pack with the hope of reaching the shelter before the planned storm of the later afternoon hit. Instead of keeping the dry and pleasant socks, unfortunately I put the wet. Upon entering wet shoes, more rain and saturated vegetation, dry socks would not have remained for a long time.

Looking towards the lake, I wondered if the path could follow the Ridera on the right. Yes, surely he did.
The land was very hard leaving the lake. I am already classifying the hard path that I have seen in Matane Wildlife reserves only behind the white mountains in terms of twisted inclination. Here, it seems that it is relentless and the climb does not end. However, I always pushed.

For me, it always adds to the difficulty of the path if it is brushstroke. Here it seemed that sporadic things were covered with weeds, but nothing too crazy.
I arrived at the top of Mont des Clercs around 2:30 pm there were some visualization opportunities near the top …
There was still a downhill path before the cutting of the shelter he had reserved, Lac Gros-Rusisseau.
The side path that wrapped around the lake was further from the IAT of what I preferred, but it was only just after 3:00 pm, I didn’t complain this time. Upon arriving at the shelter, I gathered all my water filtration things and rain jacket and dropped my backpack inside, then went down the steep path towards the lake to look for water.

Lac du thick risseau
Just after taking the last photo above, the rain began. I returned to the hill with my bottles and then put everything cozy inside, even making me hot coffee (I have been using my fuel in moderation since I have not found any place to buy any, so I have been cold breakfast. This was a waste, therefore, you see).
Once again I had the place for me. And I had time in my hands. Thinking about this trip, I don’t remember many times when I was in the camp at 3:30 pm and simply hanging the rest of the night. It was very relaxing. I expected it to be a repaire for my legs too, since the super effort was invoiced today. I hurt my muscles and, therefore, as much as possible I tried to keep horizontal instead of moving.
Thanks for joining the trip! It means a lot that you took the time to read these adventures. I love spending time and connecting to the natural world and I am very grateful for these experiences. However, not everyone has the resources to do so.
So, if you want to help all children to get outdoors, a cause that means a lot to me, please help me support Empowerment with outdoors! The «Council author» button is a direct link to my fund collection page. You are really incredible. Thank you!
