The Indian Super League (ISL) champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant will probably not participate in the Durand Cup 2025, with the future of India’s top flight still unclear.

The club has a provisional schedule for the first week of August to start the preseason of his first team, and initially intended to use his reserve team for the oldest tournament in Asia, which is played between July 22 and August 23.

Without clarity about the future of ISL, civil servants of the club are considering the idea of ​​pulling themselves back from the tournament.

It is not the first club to do this, with Kerala Blasters, Odisha FC, Chennaiyin FC, Mumbai City and FC Goa think of similar lines. However, none of them was available for an official comment.

The clubs are waiting for the judgment of the Supreme Court on the Constitution of the All India Football Federation on July 18-a decision that also stalled their transfer plans and preseason plans.
