Have you ever had those moments of tingling spine? My friend and the angel of trails, Caroline, calls those «moments of reverence.» They fell something deep within you. I find them often in the country, where the screens that dominate our lives are left behind and I am completely at the moment, in nature. My favorites so far have been the impressive views around each curve or at the top of each climb (and those climbs happen very often!) And the rainbow extends through the sky on Blue Lake! The others simply amazing inspiring moments have been among wild flowers. They are certainly in full flowering and we have slowed my daughter and I say while enjoying discovering the species (we are both buttons nerd!) And variations. The blue and yellow centers of the pure sky of the Forget me do not always make me smile! Wild flowers have been simply impressive!

These moments are one of the reasons why I love trying to get out of long backpackers, exploring these precious places.

Colorado offers incredible inspiration! But she doesn’t make it easy. The path is not always well marked. Sometimes we are attending the grass through the crest. Makes the Cairns so important. Sometimes they are only lots of rocks, but others are works of master or physical architecture. Applaud to Cairn builders!

Inspiration
I woke up on day 3 feeling disgusting. I could barely eat and my legs were lead, as if there were already 1000 feet. And I needed to move because we had a great climb to start the day. Katie was very encouraging, so I kept walking. My brain began to ask why I was trying this walk and if I could. Then I saw this beautiful flower growing from a rock. And Columbine that grows in a session field. Ok, nature, I understand it! If a small flower can burst rocks, I can keep my legs in motion for this beautiful state. Thanks for inspiration!

And speaking of inspiration, my daughter is incredible. I loved having your company in the first stage of this walk! She was my inspiration to try long distance hiking and continued training and encouraging me. For example, when I told her I didn’t know if I could do so many weeks on the Colorado path four years ago, she told me to think about several backpackers of a week. «And you have done a lot of those, mom!» She is silly and strong and teaches me when we are together. It was fun to make her interpret all the volcanic rocks we saw along the way! Since so many Little Lakes dot this path, we are still looking for classes, which led us to sing the song of the favorite path of Katie. Don’t you know about Fred The Moose?
We are very lucky to have places and people in our lives that inspire us and provide what we need in our souls. These long trails, the lands and the waters that are going through, provide homes for plants and the wild life on which we love and depend. They are beautiful.

I woke up the other morning when the sun began to rise. Just then, I witnessed a herd of Ancles running along the crest on our camp. Moment of reverence!
PS: I couldn’t get the video to upload, so you’ll have to wait for that!
PPS thanks to all the Trail Angels! Denny and Stacy and Erin and our friends from Arizona! Retro and mountain goat and, of course, part of my CT trail family, Bob Gnarly!
