My name is Maxwell – The journey

Fall in love

Coming back for more

Hello everyone! My name is Maxwell. I am from Allentown, Pennsylvania and plan to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2026. Lihat juga source 1. I grew up in the woods and have always enjoyed the outdoors. Hiking the Appalachian Trail was a huge part of my childhood and in 2024 I got to live the dream of hiking the AT.

In 2023 he did not enjoy the job he worked or the house he rented. I was looking for a change of pace. The answer I didn’t even know I was looking for came when I received an invitation to a wedding in Florida at the end of February.

It was time to get going. Attend the wedding, rent a car and drive to North Georgia to begin my trip. The plan was clear. I was embarking on an adventure and a new job and a new place to live were now problems to consider when I finished walking.

When my journey came to an end 2,200 miles north of where I started, I wasn’t quite ready to quit. I wanted to keep the good times of life on the trails, so quickly after getting off trail I decided I would try a PCT hike. I gave myself 2025 to save, train and prepare for my next long journey. At this point 2025 has passed and I’m ready to start walking.

While hiking the AT, I fell in love with trail life and the trail community. It didn’t take long after finishing to decide that I wanted to get back on the trail as soon as I could.

It’s easy to fall in love with life on the trails. Your worries are the weather, food, water, and where to sleep at night. On top of that, it’s just one foot in front of the other. The simplicity and pace of goal-oriented progress is an incredible blend of natural word enjoyment and satisfaction of physical and mental achievements.

It’s even easier to fall in love with the trail community. I can’t say enough about the trail community. The fact that so many trail wizards (my preferred term for trail angels) are willing to endure the outrageous corporeal order of groups of hikers to provide rides, food, and shelter when they can is evidence of the overwhelming love and goodwill of the community. The relationship between hiker and trail wizard is truly symbiotic and a joy to be on both sides of.

Unfortunately, all of these wonderful experiences are limited to the Appalachian Trail at the time of this writing, but I am very excited to get out west and experience all the thru-hikers, section hikers, day hikers, trail wizards, local hiking clubs, trail towns, and communities of the Pacific Crest Trail. I have only heard good things and I am sure you will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to see you out there! If all goes well and I enjoy the ride, I might consider doing the CDT and completing the Triple Crown at some point! Info lengkap: source 1. However, I have about 2600 miles before I have to worry about that.
