Myles Lewis-Skelly signs a new long-term contract at Arsenal

MyLes Lewis-Skelly signed a new long-term contract with the Arsenal on Thursday that will extend his stay in the Premier League club.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2024/25 and became the newest graduate of the Hale End Academy of the North London Club to strengthen his position in Mikel Arteta’s first team.

Lewis-Skelly joined Gunners as an eight-year-old and then played an instrumental role in each of the age groups while walking over the years. He signed his first professional contract on October 5, 2023.

He made his senior debut for the club on September 22, 2024 in a 2-2 draw in Manchester City, who came up for Jurrien Timber in the second half of injury time. He became the first choice of left back for Arteta when Arsenal ended the season as Premier League-Tweede and lost in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League of any winners PSG.

Lewis-Skelly earned his first call-up for the Senior Squad of England for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying matches against Albania and Latvia. He started his first game for England as left-back against Albania on March 21 and opened the score in the 20th minute and was then called man of the game.

In only 18 years and 176 days old, he etched his name in history by becoming the youngest English player who scored on his senior debut and surpasses the earlier record of Marcus Rashford.
