Newcastle United ISSN -STERN Response to Alexander Isak

Premier League club Newcastle United gave a strict response to a social media post of the Swedish attacker Alexander Isak, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the team.

«We are disappointed that tonight we have been warned by Alexander Isak for a social media post. We are clear that Alex will remain in contract and that a club official never assumed that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer,» said Newcastle via a statement.

“We want to keep our best players, but we also understand that players have their own wishes and we listen to their opinion. As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into account the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale have not been drawn this summer.

«This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feeling. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed when he is ready to join his teammates,» added the statement.

Isak was the subject of a bid from Liverpool during the low season and trained away from the Newcastle team, after he indicated that he wanted to explore his options.

Earlier, ISAK had stated via social media that the club broke promises and that ‘the relationship cannot continue’.

The 25-year-old scored 27 goals in 42 games for the Magpies last season and was appointed in the PFA team of the season for the Premier League
