Newcastle United Legend Nolberto Solano mentioned as Pakistan coach


Newcastle United Legend Nolberto Solano has been appointed as head coach of the Senior and Under-23 teams of Pakistan.

Solano will take over Stephen Constantine, and his first major assignment will be the AFC under-23 qualifications in September, where Pakistan is grouped with Cambodia, Iraq and Oman.

He will also be in charge of the rest of the Pakistan qualification company in 2027 AFC Asian Cup, including a double header against Afghanistan in October.

The appointment of Solano is the first important signing by the newly chosen Pakistan football federation with Mohsen Gilani as president.

«A real legend with EPL, World Cup and Copa América -Tree tree, it’s a new era for Pakistan football.»

Solano was the assistant coach of Peru when his country qualified for the FIFA World Cup after 36 years in Russia in Russia. He left the national team in 2022 when Peru did not qualify for the World Cup in Qatar after it was defeated by Australia in an intercontinental play -off.

Constantine led Pakistan to his very first victory in a world cup qualification in October 2023 and had based the team on game-to-game after his contract of one year in November last year had risen.
