Athletic Bilbao Vooruit Nico Williams has a muscle injury that is expected to prevent him from playing to the Champions League next week in the return of the team.
Williams was injured on Sunday in the first half of Spain’s 6-0 routing Turkey in the qualification of the World Cup.
The attacker «suffers a moderate muscle injury on his left adductor muscle,» said Athletic after medical tests on Monday.
Athletic did not give a timetable for the recovery of Williams.
The club organizes Arsenal on September 16 in the first round of the competition phase of the Champions League. The Basque Country Club plays for the first time since the 2014-15 season in the Champions League.
