Northast United FC characters Europa League winner Jairo Samperio

Northast United FC has agreed a deal with the Spanish winger Jairo Samperio, who will join the club with a free transfer.

Samperio will probably replace Nestor Albiach in the Highlanders Camp, who left the club after spending two seasons there.

The winger is the fourth signing for the Durand Cup champion, who had previously acquired the services of Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia, Núñez and Lalbiakdika Vanlalvunga CHema for the coming season.

Samperio, born in Cabezón de la Sal, Spain, spent his first years on the Racing de Santander Youth Academy and sharpened his talent under Hector Cuper, whose last assignment last year was the coach of Syria at the AFC Asian Cup.

Samperio’s best spell in club football came under the current Aston Villa manager Unai Emery in Sevilla, including he won the Europa League in 2014. He also played for Spain at youth level, with earlier under 20 side.

The player was released last month by the Spanish Fourth Division Sestao River Club and has since been without a club.
