Nottingham Forest sacks manager Sean Dyche after Wolves draw

Nottingham Forest sacked manager Sean Dyche on Wednesday after a dismal draw with Wolves left them hovering above the Premier League relegation zone.

“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved from his position as head coach,” the club said in a statement. X.

“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club and we wish them every success for the future.”

Forest’s 0-0 draw at home with bottom club Wolves left the gap over the bottom three at just three points hgtgdfgdtr14.

After Wednesday’s standoff, a somber Dyche acknowledged that his job was in jeopardy, and that volatile owner Evangelos Marinakis could decide to swing the axe.

Marinakis has already sacked Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou this season, and his patience ran out again after Forest recorded a clean sheet despite 35 shots.

Dyche’s team were booed at the final whistle.

Dyche said he was a ‘realist’ about his precarious situation and spoke as a manager who has resigned to his fate.

“The owner has been honest with me, without question,” he said. «If someone chooses to change in football now, that’s his decision. We’ve all seen it,» he said.

«If the owner wants to change something, that’s his business. That’s how football is now, that’s just the reality.

“He has been absolutely honest with me from start to finish, and I have been honest with him and told him the truth every step of the way.”

Forest thrived under Nuno last season and secured a place in the Europa League, but the Portuguese coach was sacked after falling out with Marinakis over transfers.
