Ousmane Dembele Aitana Bonmati wins FIFA Player of the Year 2025 awards

Paris St. Germain and France forward Ousmane Dembélé were named FIFA men’s player of the year, while Spain and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati won the women’s player award for the third year in a row in Doha on Tuesday.

Dembele, the 28-year-old, played a key role in PSG’s first Champions League win as they beat Inter Milan 5-0 in the final and scored 35 goals in all competitions last season, including 21 in Ligue 1, finishing as top scorer.

Bonmati, the Champions League player of the season, also won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the third time in a row this year and helped Barcelona to the domestic treble and reach the Champions League final and Euro 2025 final with Spain. (Reporting by Trevor Stynes, Editing by Toby Davis)
